Marketing Attribution Software for Influencer Campaigns: Northbeam, Triple Whale and Rockerbox Compared
Guide
Tracking & ROI
Brands
Northbeam, Triple Whale and Rockerbox are multi-touch attribution SaaS platforms built for ecommerce brands running paid ads across several channels — not affiliate tracking networks like Awin or Impact.com. Northbeam starts at $1,500/month and prices by ad spend; Triple Whale starts around $129/month and prices by store revenue (GMV); Rockerbox publishes no price at all and is the only one of the three that, per its own site, runs multi-touch attribution, marketing mix modeling and incrementality testing natively in one platform.
Northbeam, Triple Whale and Rockerbox are SaaS dashboards built for ecommerce and DTC brands running paid advertising across several channels at once — typically Meta, TikTok and Google Ads — that want to see how each channel, including influencer marketing, actually contributes to total sales. They are not the same as an affiliate tracking network like Awin or Impact.com (see choosing an affiliate tracking network): a tracking network attributes one specific sale to one specific creator so you can pay the correct commission. Northbeam, Triple Whale and Rockerbox instead measure how much each channel — paid social, paid search, influencer marketing, TV — contributes to total revenue, typically to support budget allocation across channels. All three are named here as unranked examples of the category, not a ranked recommendation.
| Northbeam | Triple Whale | Rockerbox | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry pricing (own page) | Growth: custom quote (under $200K/month ad spend). Starter: $1,500/month (under $1.5M annual ad spend). Professional: $3,500/month (up to $500K/month ad spend). Enterprise: custom quote. | Not directly confirmed — Triple Whale's own pricing page blocked direct fetch (403) during research. Several independent, mutually consistent third-party sources report Growth $129/mo, Pro $199/mo, Enterprise $279/mo, plus a free plan — confirm the current figures directly at triplewhale.com/pricing before relying on them. | No public pricing page at all — quote-based after a demo only, confirmed on Rockerbox's own site. |
| What the price scales with | Monthly ad spend (USD) — the more you spend on advertising, the higher the tier | Store gross merchandise value (GMV) over the trailing 12 months — not ad spend directly | Not published — negotiated individually |
| Attribution methods | Multi-touch attribution (core product); "Clicks + Deterministic Views" included from Starter; MMM Plus and incrementality testing as paid add-ons from Professional/Enterprise | Its own "Triple Pixel" (server-side tracking), reportedly 7 attribution models (incl. first-click, last-click, linear), post-purchase surveys as zero-party data | Multi-touch attribution, marketing mix modeling and incrementality testing — all three methods built natively into one platform, per its own site |
| Named integrations relevant to influencer/affiliate marketing (own homepage) | Grin (an influencer marketing platform) and Impact (an affiliate/partnership platform) named directly among its integrations | Not directly confirmed on its own site at the time of this research | Not specifically named — 100+ integrations spanning social, search, programmatic and offline (CTV, linear TV, direct mail, podcasts) |
| Recommended minimum size (own page) | Enterprise is recommended from roughly $250K/month in total performance-marketing spend | No fixed threshold stated in the material available | No fixed threshold stated — client logos on its own site span mid-market to enterprise (including Unilever, Weight Watchers, Staples) |
Northbeam's tier structure is built around how much you spend on advertising each month — the higher your ad spend, the more expensive tier you need. Triple Whale instead prices by the store's total GMV (gross merchandise value) over the trailing 12 months, independent of how large a share of that revenue actually goes to paid advertising. In practice, that means a brand with a high ad spend but low total revenue can land relatively cheaper on Triple Whale than on Northbeam — and the reverse for a brand with high revenue but a cautious ad budget. Rockerbox doesn't disclose which variable its price is even tied to until you've talked to sales.
No. None of the three platforms tracks an individual creator's unique link or discount code to calculate a commission payout — that's the job of an affiliate tracking network like Awin, Impact.com, Everflow or Refersion (see that comparison). A brand running both a curated influencer/affiliate program and paid advertising across several channels typically needs both categories of tool at once: the network to pay creators correctly, and one of the three platforms here to see how the influencer channel as a whole performs against paid social and paid search.
The three platforms here are the commercial, off-the-shelf version of methods the Academy has already covered conceptually. The concepts themselves — last-click, multi-touch and incrementality testing — are explained in influencer marketing attribution explained; Northbeam, Triple Whale and part of Rockerbox's product are commercial implementations of multi-touch attribution and incrementality testing specifically. Rockerbox's MMM module and Northbeam's MMM Plus add-on are, in turn, the paid SaaS version of what Google's free Meridian and Meta's free Robyn do as open-source tools, described in Marketing Mix Modeling for influencer marketing — pay for one of the platforms here and you skip building and maintaining the model yourself, in exchange for a fixed, often substantial monthly fee. The length of the attribution window these platforms use to decide whether a purchase counts is the same underlying mechanic attribution windows in influencer marketing covers in detail.
The figures below are hypothetical and for illustration only — Northbeam's published price level is taken directly from Northbeam's own pricing page, but the assumed $400,000/month ad spend is a made-up example, not data from a Make Influence customer or from Northbeam itself.
Assume a brand spends $400,000/month in total on paid advertising across Meta, TikTok and Google, and is considering Northbeam's Professional tier (up to $500K/month ad spend, flat price $3,500/month):
The point isn't that 0.875% is a benchmark for what an attribution tool "should" cost — it's purely to illustrate that the price's share of total budget falls the closer a brand sits to the top of a flat-price tier, and rises correspondingly for a brand with a smaller ad spend in the same tier.
Make Influence doesn't build or resell an attribution platform like the three compared here. Our own tracking, described in how influencer tracking actually works, is about attributing an individual sale to the individual creator correctly, not about comparing ad channels against each other across a full media mix. In our experience, a tool like Northbeam, Triple Whale or Rockerbox only earns its cost once a brand already runs a substantial paid ad budget alongside influencer marketing and has a concrete need to see the channels against each other — a brand running primarily an organic or curated affiliate-driven influencer program without a large parallel ad budget typically gets more value from getting commission tracking right first (see affiliate tracking networks) than from paying $1,500–$3,500/month for channel attribution it doesn't yet have the data foundation to use fully.
No. They measure how much each marketing channel contributes to total sales — they don't pay commission to individual creators or track a specific creator's unique link. See affiliate tracking networks for that task.
Not necessarily. Meridian and Robyn are free open-source tools you build and maintain the model with yourself; Rockerbox and Northbeam's MMM Plus add-on are the paid, already-built version of the same underlying method. The two approaches are alternatives to each other, not a complement — see Marketing Mix Modeling for influencer marketing.
Per third-party sources, Triple Whale has the lowest publicly reported entry level (around $129/mo), against Northbeam's Starter at $1,500/mo. Rockerbox discloses no price at all until you've spoken to sales. Always confirm the current figure directly on the vendor's own pricing page.
Northbeam names Grin and Impact directly as integrations on its own homepage. Triple Whale and Rockerbox don't name equivalent influencer-specific integrations on the pages reviewed here — that doesn't rule out the integration existing, but it isn't documented publicly the same way.
It can't be determined — Rockerbox publishes no price at all, so a direct comparison requires a quote from both vendors for your specific volume.
Not directly. All three measure the "influencer marketing" channel as a whole, not the individual creator — for that, you still need an affiliate tracking network or the platform's own creator-specific links and codes.
