Bodum's Affiliate Program: Confirmed Open in Portugal, No Danish Listing Found

Bodum, the Danish-founded coffee-press and kitchenware brand, has a genuinely open affiliate program — but not on any Danish network. affi.io's listing (checked 30 August 2026) shows three open networks concentrated in Portugal (Sale Gains, BlueAff, Rakuten Advertising) plus a multi-geo Indoleads listing, while neither Adtraction nor Partner-ads — the two networks this series otherwise uses to confirm Danish coverage — lists Bodum at all. A further complication: FlexOffers' own US program page states the program is active with an 8-16% commission, directly contradicting affi.io's 'Closed' status for the same listing.

Short answer

Bodum, the Danish-founded coffee-press and kitchenware brand, has — as of this research (30 August 2026) — a genuinely open affiliate program, but not on any Danish network. The third-party directory affi.io — the same tool this article series has already used to confirm network status for Rains, HAY, Hummel and Flying Tiger Copenhagen — shows fifteen separate network/market listings for Bodum, three of which are marked "Opened" and concentrated in Portugal (Sale Gains, BlueAff, Rakuten Advertising), plus a fourth open listing (Indoleads) covering unspecified "multiple geos" with a notably short 1-day cookie window. Neither Adtraction nor Partner-ads — the two networks this series otherwise uses to confirm Danish coverage — lists Bodum at all, and the word "Denmark" doesn't appear anywhere on affi.io's Bodum page. A further complication: FlexOffers' own US program page, fetched directly, states the program is "Active" with an 8-16% commission and a 45-day cookie — directly contradicting affi.io's "Closed" status for that same FlexOffers/US listing. That disagreement is reported here as unresolved, not settled in either direction.

Who is Bodum?

Bodum was founded in Copenhagen in 1944 by Peter Bodum, according to Wikipedia's Bodum entry — corroborated directly by Denmark's own company registry: Proff.dk lists Peter Bodum A/S, CVR number 16977519, established 22 April 1944 and registered at Humlebæk Strandvej 21, 3050 Humlebæk. Peter Bodum began by importing glassware to Denmark, and his contact with vacuum coffee makers led him to develop his own, more affordable design — the MOCCA vacuum coffee maker in the early 1950s, followed by the SANTOS in 1958, which established Bodum internationally. His son Jørgen Bodum took over the company in 1974 at age 26, launched the now-iconic Bistro French press, and moved the company's headquarters to Triengen in the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland, in 1978 — positioning it more centrally in Europe. The company remains family-owned today under Jørgen Bodum's leadership, co-owned with his sister Pia Bodum, with Rikke Tøgersen as managing director, per Wikipedia. That ownership and headquarters history is a different pattern from several other named Danish brands in this series: Bodum is Danish-founded and still Danish-family-owned, but its operational headquarters left Denmark in 1978 — unlike, say, Rains, which remains headquartered in Denmark.

Fifteen listings, none in Denmark

affi.io's aggregated overview of Bodum's affiliate listings (fetched directly on 30 August 2026) shows the following networks and markets:

Two things stand out. First, every single one of the four currently open listings discloses no commission rate at all — the only listing anywhere on the page with a disclosed rate, Daisycon's 10.1% for the Netherlands, is marked closed. Second, and more directly relevant for a Danish audience: the word "Denmark" — or "DK", "Danish", "Scandinavia" or "Nordic" — does not appear anywhere on affi.io's Bodum page at all, not even as a closed or paused listing to point to. That's a different shape of absence than, for example, Hummel's, where a Danish Adtraction listing exists and is simply closed — for Bodum, there's no Danish-market listing on affi.io to be open or closed in the first place.

No Adtraction or Partner-ads listing found

Beyond affi.io, this research specifically searched for a Bodum listing on Adtraction and Partner-ads — the two networks this article series has consistently used to confirm or rule out Danish-market coverage for named brands, including confirmed findings for Rains (open, Adtraction) and confirmed absences for Christiania Bikes and Samsøe Samsøe. Neither network returned a Bodum listing in this research. That's an honest negative finding, not proof no such listing exists anywhere — both networks' own merchant catalogues require a login this research couldn't access directly — but it's consistent with affi.io's own silence on Denmark.

An unresolved disagreement: is the FlexOffers/US listing open or closed?

Beyond the absence of a Danish listing, this research found a genuine three-way disagreement about the status of Bodum's US program specifically. affi.io lists FlexOffers/US as "Closed", with no commission disclosed. But FlexOffers' own program page for Bodum US — fetched directly in this research — states the program status as "Active", with "the payout ranges from 8% to 16% depending on the product purchased" and "a 45-day cookie duration". A third source, the secondary aggregator getlasso.co, separately claims a 6% commission on a 45-day cookie via FlexOffers — but that page returned a 403 (forbidden) error when this research tried to access it directly, so its figure could not be independently checked this time and is reported here only as an unverifiable secondary claim, not a confirmed one.

These three sources don't agree with each other, and this article deliberately doesn't pick the one that sounds most useful. It's possible affi.io's aggregation is simply out of date for this one listing while FlexOffers' own page is current — network directories are known to lag — or that FlexOffers' listing has reopened and closed more than once. Either way, a network's own program page is a stronger source than a third-party aggregator when the two disagree, so a creator checking this specifically should treat FlexOffers' own "Active", 8-16%, 45-day figures as the more current claim — while still applying directly to see the real, current terms before promising anything to a brand, since neither figure has been confirmed inside an actual FlexOffers dashboard in this research.

Comparison with other named Danish brands in this series

BrandConfirmed open listingDanish/Nordic coveragePattern
BodumYes — Portugal (3 networks) + multi-geo IndoleadsNo listing found at all, on any networkDanish-founded, no DK listing anywhere
IKEAYes — Norway, SwedenNo — not confirmed either way in DenmarkNo DK listing found, but confirmed active in neighboring Nordics
HummelYes — India (Optimise)No — Danish Adtraction listing exists and is closedDanish brand, DK listing exists but closed
Flying Tiger CopenhagenYes — Germany, SpainNo — Danish Adtraction listing exists and is closedDanish brand, DK listing exists but closed
RainsYes — Denmark (Adtraction)Yes — Denmark-specific, activeDanish brand, open at home
Christiania BikesNo — nothing found anywhereNoNo confirmed program at all, any market

Bodum's pattern is closest to IKEA's: a real, confirmed-open program exists, but no Danish-market listing was found on any network checked — as opposed to Hummel's or Flying Tiger's pattern, where a Danish listing demonstrably exists and is simply marked closed. The distinction matters for a creator: a closed listing (Hummel, Flying Tiger) suggests the door could reopen on the same terms it once had; an absent listing (Bodum, IKEA in Denmark specifically) gives no historical figure to anchor an expectation to at all.

Decision framework

IF your audience is in Portugal — Sale Gains, BlueAff and Rakuten Advertising are all confirmed open, though none discloses a rate; apply to see the real terms.

IF your audience is broadly European or unspecified — Indoleads' multi-geo listing is open, but its 1-day cookie window is unusually short and likely favors only content with an immediate, same-day purchase intent.

IF your audience is American and you already use FlexOffers — check the live status directly inside your own FlexOffers dashboard before relying on either affi.io's "Closed" or FlexOffers' own "Active" claim; the two disagree and only a live account can settle it.

IF your audience is Danish — there is no confirmed Bodum affiliate listing to point to at all, not even a closed one; a direct approach to Bodum's own marketing team, rather than a self-serve network application, is the only route this research can point to.

Worked example (hypothetical)

The numbers below are hypothetical and illustrate only the disclosed Daisycon rate for comparison — they are not a Make Influence customer case, and not a rate available to a Danish creator today.

Assume a European home-and-kitchen creator drives one tracked coffee-press sale worth DKK 450 through the Netherlands' Daisycon listing, before it closed. At the disclosed rate of 10.1%, that would have produced 450 × 0.101 = DKK 45 in commission. Using instead FlexOffers' own claimed US range of 8-16%, the same DKK 450 sale would produce between 450 × 0.08 = DKK 36 and 450 × 0.16 = DKK 72, depending on the product category — a spread wide enough that the figure can't be collapsed to one number without knowing the exact product. Neither calculation applies to a Danish sale, because no Danish rate exists to insert.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming a Danish-founded brand automatically has a Danish affiliate listing. Bodum has fifteen network listings and not one names Denmark.
  • Treating affi.io's "Closed" status for FlexOffers/US as final. FlexOffers' own program page, fetched directly, currently says the opposite — confirm inside an actual account before assuming either source is right.
  • Using getlasso.co's 6% figure as confirmed. The page returned a 403 error in this research and couldn't be independently checked; it also doesn't match FlexOffers' own stated 8-16% range.
  • Assuming the four open listings all pay the same rate. None of the four discloses a rate at all — there's no single number to compare them by yet.

Make Influence's operational perspective

Make Influence doesn't have a documented customer case with Bodum and doesn't run any affiliate arrangement of the type described here. Our experience reviewing named brands' affiliate programs for the Academy is that an entirely undisclosed rate across every open listing — as here — is a stronger signal to apply and check the real terms before building content than a program with at least one confirmed, if closed, historical figure to reference. The most honest move for a Danish creator specifically is to recognize that Bodum simply has no Danish-market listing to build a plan around right now, rather than estimating one from a neighboring country's undisclosed rate.

FAQ

Does Bodum have an affiliate program for Danish creators?

Not confirmed on any network checked. Neither Adtraction nor Partner-ads lists Bodum, and affi.io's own Bodum page never mentions Denmark, Danish, Scandinavia or Nordic in any of its fifteen listed rows.

Where is Bodum's affiliate program actually open right now?

Three networks in Portugal (Sale Gains, BlueAff, Rakuten Advertising) plus a multi-geo Indoleads listing, per affi.io. None of the four discloses a commission rate.

Is Bodum's FlexOffers program in the US open or closed?

Unresolved. affi.io says closed; FlexOffers' own program page, fetched directly, says active with an 8-16% commission and a 45-day cookie. This article reports both rather than picking one.

What is Bodum's commission rate?

Only one listing anywhere discloses a rate: a now-closed Netherlands listing via Daisycon, at 10.1% with a 45-day cookie. Every currently open listing discloses no rate at all.

Is Bodum a Danish company?

Founded in Copenhagen in 1944 by Peter Bodum, and still family-owned by his children Jørgen and Pia Bodum — but the operational headquarters moved to Switzerland in 1978, and no Danish-market affiliate listing was found.

How does Bodum's case compare with IKEA's?

Similarly: neither has a confirmed Danish-market listing, but both have confirmed-open listings elsewhere — IKEA in Norway and Sweden, Bodum in Portugal and via a multi-geo network. See IKEA's affiliate program for the comparison.

How does Bodum's case differ from Hummel's or Flying Tiger Copenhagen's?

Both of those brands have a Danish-market listing that demonstrably existed and is now marked closed. Bodum has no Danish-market listing at all, on any network checked — a different, harder-to-plan-around kind of absence. See Hummel's affiliate program and Flying Tiger Copenhagen's affiliate program for the closed-listing pattern.

Is getlasso.co's 6% commission figure for Bodum reliable?

Not verifiable in this research — the page returned a 403 (forbidden) error when fetched directly. It also doesn't match FlexOffers' own program page, which states 8-16% depending on product. Treat the 6% figure as unconfirmed.

Does Bodum's checklist against the five-point evaluation hold up?

Weakly for a Danish creator specifically: no rate is confirmed on any open listing, Danish coverage isn't confirmed at all, and the program is fragmented across at least eleven separate network/market combinations. See how to evaluate whether a retailer's affiliate program is worth a creator's time for the full five-point framework.

Is Bodum's affiliate program open or application-only?

The four open listings (Sale Gains, BlueAff, Rakuten Advertising, Indoleads) all appear to be ordinary, self-serve network sign-ups in this research, with no approval-gate language found. See open vs application-only affiliate programs for the general trade-off.

Does Christiania Bikes' "no program found" finding apply to Bodum too?

No — Bodum's case is different and arguably more useful for a creator: a real, open program does exist, just not on a Danish network. See Christiania Bikes' affiliate program for a case with no confirmed program anywhere.
